If you are trying to connect your Neonode’s infrared touch sensors to your PC and running into trouble with the sensors not being recognized, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue and get your sensor up and running.
Solution:
1. Check Requirements and Connections: First, make sure your system meets the necessary requirements and that all cables are securely connected.
2. Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and look for “HID-compliant touch screen device.” If it’s not listed, continue to the next step. If you do see it, try uninstalling the driver, restarting your computer, and then reconnecting the sensor.
3. Reinstall the Firmware: Begin by setting the sensor into DFU mode. Hold down the black button on the Neonode Interface Board while connecting it to your computer. Release the button once connected.
4. Check Device Manager: After connecting, check if the sensor appears in the Device Manager. If you have the Workbench or zForceProgrammer open, verify if the sensor is detected there as well.
5. If Detected: If the sensor is recognized, ensure that the zForceProgrammer is installed and up to date. Upgrade the sensor firmware using the latest version.
6. Driver Installation: If the sensor isn’t detected, look for the “STM32 BOOTLOADER” driver in Device Manager.
If it’s missing, navigate to the zForceProgrammer directory (defaults to C:\Program Files (x86)\Neonode\zForceProgrammer\Drivers\CubeProgrammer_DFU_Drivers) and double-click the dpinst_amd64 application to install the driver. Restart your computer and repeat the previous steps.
