Hello. I have recently ordered a raspberry pi cm5 and noticed there was no U.FL antenna connector soldered onto the board. Another cm5 i have ordered before (not from DigiKey) had it soldered on. Does this not come standard or did i get a board with it missing?
There are different variant of the CM5. The datasheet for the CM5 has the part numbers for the different versions. The SC1565 does not have wireless.
The callout for if wireless is included is in the “CM5” numbering. The “1” after the first 5, notes wireless.
Here are all of the applicable CM5 with wireless.
On the product page, the Expansion Site/Bus attribute will note if there is wireless or not.
Ah i see, thank you for clearing that up quickly! Is there a difference between the SC1595 and the SC1565 besides the u.fl connector? If i solder on the connector on the SC1565, do i have the same functionality as the SC1595?
Hi @bergvallnr12,
I expect your board (the SC1565) looks something like below, i.e., no wireless module installed?
If so, soldering on the U.FL connector alone will not add wireless capability.
Okay yes, i am missing the whole module, had a heatsink applied so didnt see. Thanks! Then i will have to order the sc1595.
