Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find training on Signal Chain Designer?
- Once you have opened Signal Chain Designer, there is an icon on the menu bar labeled “Videos”. Clicking on this icon opens a list of training videos for Signal Chain Designer. Specific questions can be directed to the Design Tools and Calculators forum in Ezone.
Will Analog Devices sell the featured signal chain examples as kits or evaluation boards?
- While it’s possible that some of the signal chain examples may be developed into evaluation boards in the future, as noted during the webinar, we recognize that each customer may need to customize a particular signal chain for their unique application, so offering kits and boards is not likely to be useful. Our intent is not to lock customers into specific solutions but give them the means to develop a solution that meets their particular needs.
With the emphasis on total solutions, how will Analog Devices continue to support its discrete precision products such as amplifiers and data converters?
- Support for discrete products isn’t changing. Historically, these products have been supported by our field staff, factory application engineers and through Ezone forums. These support channels are still available, so specific product support will not change. However, customers can expect to see ADI’s engineers bring a more wholistic perspective to customer support, not only focusing on specific product support, but also seeking to help customers optimize overall system performance.
What does the future hold for the design tools that support its precision products?
- Having powerful design tools for precision solutions is a core component of our strategy. Its vital that we give our customers the capability to easily develop system level solutions that meet their overall objectives. For example, we will continue to add functional capabilities to Signal Chain Designer. We are also looking at how AI can be used to help customers develop unique solutions with just a few requirement inputs, allowing them to kick start their system designs more quickly. Finally, we are looking at options for sharing information between tools so that the design and simulation process becomes more and more seamless.
