What is the largest AWG wire I can use for DB-9 solder cups for P/N 4672-MHDB9SP-ND? The data sheet was not helpful and it is not stated in the specs on the DK page.

I have been unable to find this information listed anywhere, but I have reached out to the supplier to see if it has a maximum or recommended wire gauge to use with this connector.
I will update you once I have received a response.

20AWG is a typical max stated for connectors of the type, which are standardized to a large degree.

In any event, the current rating gives a person a signal as to what might be expected. There’s little reason to expect a solder cup contact rated for 5A to accept a conductor suited for a great deal more than than that.

Rick would be correct. The supplier did inform me that the recommended for this would be 20-22AWG.
