What's your preferred BOM format?

For the six months, I’ve been working on a platform that offers collaboration and version control specifically for hardware development. It’s called InventHub and is currently in public beta stage. You can view and diff designs visually, and it’s a git-based VCS.

I’d be a huge favour to know which BOM formats are preferred. Because I think, BOM generation and estimation, if automated and updated dynamically for each project, could also add great value to the development process.
