Question:
Why did my switch lose the tactile feeling?
Answer:
The contact dome may be deformed or damaged which leads to the loss of their tactile feeling. Please check the operation of the tactile switch.
Explanation:
Since the contact dome of a tactile switch is pushed indirectly, the force is directly applied. Keeping the switch strongly pushed in may degrade the contact dome and/or damage the switch. Pressing the switch diagonally may damage the plunger and/or deform the contact dome.
Quick tips
Examples of problems caused by pressing the switch can be found on The SOLUTIONS [Operation Switch], which shows “Mechnism of failure occurrence” and"Checkpoint for prevention".
