We here recently had the pleasure of attending an in person demonstration of American Bright’s Mini-LED Display module Part Number AB-MLD13-07-40
The display features an LED array matrix for backlighting allowing for 384 zones of localized, dynamic brightness control of the backlit area.
This precise backlight control of not only what is brightly lit but also areas that are dimmed allows for a vastly increased contrast ratio over traditional fully backlit TFT LCD displays, delivering deeper blacks and brilliant whites.
These displays shine.
You may have noticed I’ve used the word bright and brightness a few times. It’s hard to convey in writing the brightness of the LEDs, allowing for a display that is fully viewable in sunlight at an impressive 4000 Nits.
Backlight only where you need it with light on demand, the control of the backlight allows for energy savings when the screen is fully dimmed.
One can easily see the different outdoor use cases for a display with this amount of light. Think fish finders, marine navigation, industrial/construction, surveying, kiosks and ATM machines.
