Barrel Jack Basics & Switch Functionality
-Internal switches are used to reroute power or audio signal depending if connector is mated.
TS Jack for Mono application. Tip is Open Circuit meaning it does not contain a switch.
TS Jack for Mono application. Tip is Closed Circuit meaning the tip contains a normally closed switch that opens when mated.
TRS Jack for Stereo application. Tip and Ring are Open Circuit meaning they do not contain a switch.
TS Jack for Mono application. Tip is Open Circuit meaning it does not contain a switch. Isolate Make Circuit is an isolated normally open switch that closes when mated.
TRS Jack for Stereo application. Tip is Closed Circuit meaning the tip contains a normally closed switch that opens when mated. Ring is Open Circuit meaning it does not contain a switch.
TS Jack for Mono application. Tip has one Open Circuit meaning it does not contain a switch and also one Closed Circuit which contains a normally closed switch that opens when mated.
TS Jack for Mono application. Tip is Open Circuit meaning it does not contain a switch. Isolated Break Circuit is an isolated normally closed switch that opens when mated.
TRS Jack for Stereo application. Tip is Open Circuit meaning it does not contain a switch. Ring is Closed Circuit meaning the ring contains a normally closed switch that opens when mated.
TRS Jack for Stereo application. Both Tip and Ring are Closed Circuit meaning the tip and ring each contain a normally closed switch that opens when mated.
