Bidirectional LEDs have 2 leads. Voltage is forward biased for one color and reverse biased for the other color. Each color may require a different voltage since each color is its own light emitting diode.
Common Anode LEDs have one positive(+) lead and the other leads are negative(-). Similar to Bidirectional LEDs, each color may require a different voltage since each color is its own light emitting diode.

Common Cathode LEDs have one negative(-) lead and the other leads are positive(+). Similar to Bidirectional and Common Anode LEDs, each color may require a different voltage since each color is its own light emitting diode.
DigiKey’s multicolor Panel Indicators, Pilot Lights may also feature bidirectional, common anode, and common cathode lead configurations.
