Cable connector specifications for J-Link EDU Mini included cable

------Question for 8.08.91 Please Put your question below------

I am currently designing a custom PCB with a debug header intended to be used with the J-Link EDU Mini. I would like to confirm the exact specifications of the cable included with the J-Link EDU Mini in order to select the correct mating connector for my PCB.

Could you please provide the following information about the included 9-pin cable:

  1. The exact part number of the cable included with the J-Link EDU Mini

  2. The part number of the female connector on the target board end of the cable

  3. The mating connector recommended for the target PCB side

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Best regards

Greetings,

The User Manual indicates that the connections are based on a standard 0.1" (2.54mm) pitch connector system. This is perhaps the most ubiquitous and widely-interoperable electronic interconnect system in current use.

By design, most all similar connectors based on 0.1" spacing of 0.025" square pins are interoperable to a greater or lesser degree, pin count and polarization features notwithstanding. Specific connector selections are not particularly important, however references are offered on the following page of the manual.

“Rectangular Connector” is a recommended search term to highlight the locations of such products. Board-side items will be found under “Headers, Male Pins” while cable-mounted products will be listed under the “Free-Hanging, Panel Mount” sub-heading. Filtering results thereunder for the desired number of positions and 0.1" pitch and row spacing will narrow results to the general ballpark of interest.
