You can put as many surge suppression ICs in parallel as you want. The I-trip would add up. So two 500 mA Itrip should be around 1 A I-trip. Note, however, Bourns doesn’t recommend putting TBU® in series. You can gain current capacity, but voltage rating is what is stated on the datasheet.
