Can this encoder be PCB mounted without using the panel mount feature?

Welcome to the TechForum.

Certainly, just make sure to use the correct PCB footprint.

Tech Tip: The incremental encoder does not “know” its position. Unlike a potentiometer (trimmer) it cannot be set and forgotten. Consequently, it’s universally important that the user have access to the encoder.
