Some of the products I repair have a white adhesive that is applied to components like big capacitors that might move or vibrate too much. I want to reapply something after repair but I’m not finding anything that I like. Electronics grade silicone is okay, but takes forever to set up and I don’t think it really does anything as it is too flexible. It also hardens in the tube so fast it is pretty much a single use product. I’m looking for something that I can use after repair without having to mix up anything or having it go bad right away. Too bad hot melt glue melts when hot. It would be perfect otherwise.
Hello,
Not really sure what to offer you for this one.
Here is a link to what we do have, take a look and see if one of them would work in your application.
Well, it was worth a try. I just am not sure what the stuff is called and that makes it hard to find.
Products in the thermal adhesives, epoxies & greases family tend to be heat-transfer focused. Materials used primarily for adhesion will usually be found in Glues, Adhesives, & Applicators.
That said, many of the single-part (i.e. no-mixing) adhesives available cure in response to atmospheric moisture, and are thus going to be subject to hardening in the tube once opened. Ultraviolet curing adhesives are a thing, but fundamentally your options in an occasional-use context aren’t going to be quite the same as those available to a factory that might be squirting through a 55-gallon drum of the stuff every day.
