Product Usecase
I want to build a mechanical-magnetic custom keyboard which works wireless. For this usecase low power sensors are a must have. Traditional HE (hall-effect) sensors not only have a higher current draw than TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sensors, but can also not be power cycled to save even more power because of the long turn on times of most HE sensors. Often even the measurement frequency is limited for HE sensors which makes them unusable for 8k or even 1k polling.
As there are quite a few keyboard enthusiasts I am sure that I wold not be the only one benefiting from adding such products to the inventory of digikey.
Rough Requirements
- low turn on time and high measurement frequency
- low power draw
- from the keyboard switches I found the linear range should be around 1000Gs for placement below the switch (Gateron KS-20 ranges from 100 to 900 Gs)
- As the sensor for MagMech Compatible layout is placed to the side 300-400Gs could be sufficient
- north and south facing magnet variants and/or symetric sensors
- cheap: maybe around 20ct/pc? I would definetly not buy above 50ct/pc
I already requested information from TDK, but they did not answer. Maybe they do, if you ask as company.
