Connection dot

Scheme-it not ever create a connection dot… How can I command a connection dot ?

Good day @Renato, If you are creating a schematic, using only ‘schematic symbols’, you should have no problem creating junction/connection dots, when joining one net to another.

If you are using any of these, image
…they will not. The items here function as a flow chart and can only connect from one to another.

Feel free to ask anything if this is unclear.

I also need to know, how do you place a connection dot, or can you. Since colored lines do not exort, how can you tell if traces are connected unless you can manually place a dot. The scheme-it does not place a dot when i draw a trace from point “a” to point “b”. Thanks

When trying to connect another net/line to an existing one, are you clicking on the existing net (line) instead of just crossing over it? If so, it should create a junction dot.

It’s best to not ‘cross’ lines where you want a junction, but rather offset them to make it crystal clear to anyone reading your schematic that you definitely intend for all 4 lines to be part of the same Net, like so…

So, a user cannot force or place a junction “dot”, only the software can?

Correct. The program can only do what you tell it to. If you pass over one net, without clicking on it, it will assume you do not wish to have them be a part of the same net. You’ll need to delete one and re-draw it, this time clicking on the existing net as you are doing so.

@karl.lumpkins - You are correct that this is done by software. To clarify, connection points between components in Scheme-it can either be a “line” or a “wire”. Wires connected together create a junction dot and are associated as a common net. Lines can connect to a net, but they will not create a junction. When working in the tool you will notice the edit options in the right panel also differ between nets and lines. For a visual workaround, you can always add an ellipse over your junction between a line/line or line/net - although this is not best practice.
