Creality Space Pi 4x

Creality Space Pi 4X

As filament starts to absorb humidity, the filament starts to become more brittle and more likely to cause printing issues like bubbles and stringing or to break before it enters the extruder head. By drying the filament these issues can be greatly reduced or eliminated.

Setup

Remove peelable caution stickers and check desiccant that it is in the compartment at the bottoms of the chambers.

The Creality Space Pi 4X is now ready to be used.

First Steps to Drying Filament

Before you start to dry your filament with the Creality Space Pi 4X, you need to first set the type of filament that is stored in it and then set the drying temp and length of drying time. These first steps are for using the left chamber of the dryer, and a the same for selecting the right chamber of the dryer.

From the home screen touch the left chamber to select.

Here you can see the type of filament, operating temperature, and time that is currently selected. The settings shown here are PLA, 50°C, and a run time of 8 hours.

Touching the filament spool symbol, you can set the filament type that is stored. You can also adjust temperature and drying time from this screen. Note that there are presets from Creality for temperature and drying time.

The filament type screen allows you to select a filament and the preset for that type will be loaded.

After you have made your selection, you can touch the play symbol to start the drying process. The light in the chamber will light up indicating that that chamber is currently drying.

If you need to remove filament from the chamber, you can either pause or end the drying process by touching the pause/stop symbol.

After the filament has been dried, you can either keep the filament stored in the dryer or remove it and keep it in a dry box with additional desiccant. If you keep the filament in the Creality Space Pi, you can turn on the Auto mode. This will periodically turn on the dryer to keep your filament dry.

Setup Auto Drying

From the Home Screen touch Auto

This will bring you to the Auto settings screen.

Here you can toggle Auto Drying and Auto Dehumidify.

The auto drying can be set for both chambers or individually for the left or right chamber. You can also set the threshold humidity, target temperature, and the drying temperature.
