Design once. Swap SoMs. Scale without redesign

Scalability & Compatibility in FPGA SoMs

FPGA SoMs offer excellent scalability and compatibility within a unified ecosystem, enabled by standardized form factors and consistent board to board (B2B) connector interfaces. This architectural approach ensures that multiple SoMs ranging from mid-range to high-performance devices share a common footprint and pin compatibility, as illustrated in the images below.

As a result, designers can seamlessly migrate across different performance variants without the need to redesign the carrier board. A system initially developed using a mid-range SoM can be easily upgraded to a higher-end device by simply replacing the module, eliminating the need for a complete system redesign. This enables a true plug-&-play upgrade path while significantly reducing development effort, time-to-market, and overall design risk.
