The crimp pins DCS-01-R and DCS-01A-R from Adam Tech are two parts from two different “stamping dies”.
A stamping die is a precision tool used to cut a metal sheet and form it into a particular shape. Dies contain cutting and forming sections that are usually made from special hardenable steel, known as tool steel. A die gets the force it needs from the press.
As per the drawing, their dimensions are different, but both can fit into Adam Tech D-Sub housings. They are functionally interchangeable.
The suggested crimping tools for these parts are:
D-Sub crimp pin extraction Tool: AR-910672
D-Sub ratcheting crimping tool: 2361497-1 and ATHT-002
