Hi Everyone & Tech Support Team,

We recently received a shipment of industrial batteries under Part Number 11-BK-110FHB01-ND . Upon inspection, we noticed that the physical cells delivered are completely blank—without any labels, sleeve markings, or OEM branding.

As these cells are intended for deployment in critical equipment, we need some technical insights and community experience before deciding whether to use them or request a replacement/refund:

  1. Brand, Authenticity & Origin: Is it common practice for genuine Panasonic industrial cells (specifically those manufactured in China) to be supplied completely blank/unlabeled? Or is it more likely that these were mispicked from a generic / third-party batch altogether?

  2. Datasheet & Electrical Compliance: For industrial cells delivered without markings, can we safely assume they strictly meet the nominal capacity, discharge curves, and voltage ratings specified in the official Panasonic datasheet?

  3. Safety & Suitability: From an engineering/safety perspective, would you recommend testing and integrating these unlabeled cells into critical devices, or is it safer to insist on a full replacement with factory-labeled, fully traceable cells?

Has anyone encountered a similar batch issue with this specific Panasonic part number from China? Any advice or technical verification tips would be greatly appreciated!

DigiKey only purchases parts form OEMs no 3rd party venders, Panasonic provided the parts and the datasheet and stand behind information given as accurate.

  • Dimension Mismatch (Height):

    • Datasheet Spec: 91.0 (+0/-2.5) mm

    • Actual Measured Height: 87.0 -87.5 mm (out of tolerance by more than 1mm

As you can see, the measured height (\\sim 88.0 \\text{ mm}) falls below the minimum allowable factory tolerance threshold (88.5 \\text{ mm}).

We would like to ask the technical community:

  1. Why is there such a dimensional discrepancy? Why would bare cells delivered directly from a major manufacturer fail to meet the lower tolerance limit specified in their own official datasheet?

  2. Application Risks: Has anyone encountered out-of-spec dimensions with this specific Panasonic BK-110F series before? Is it safe to deploy cells that do not meet the minimum height specification into critical equipment?
