I have a eao 61-2201.0/D switch actuator coupled to an 61-8420.12 switching element.
How do I proceed to disassemble these parts?
thank you.

Hello rogeriolauria,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.
One page 707 of the DATASHEET, it says you can download technical data, assembly instructions and more on their website.
Maybe if one of the engineers are familiar with this switch series, they can add to the post.
Dear David!
Thank you very much for your reply. I have already checked the data provided by the products datasheet. It concerns mainly the assemblage, which is quite straightforward. However, it seem that separating the aforementioned parts may cause them some damage.
I’m not sure that the design is intended to accommodate disassembly, since most such items tend to get installed once and used until they’re worn out, at which point being nice to the parts isn’t really a concern…
Looks like a notch-and-ramp sort of mechanism that holds things together though. If the clearances allow, a person might try a thin shim made from a beverage can or something similar as a means of disengaging it more or less gently.
Dear Rick.
Thank you for your suggestion. I´ll try it and let you know if it works.
Hi Roger, I’ll have an answer for you tomorrow.
Thanks a lot, JKan!
Hi Roger,
The two pieces can be safely separated. Here’s an image from the Assembly Instructions showing how to separate the switching element from the actuator. Basically, you insert the tool to release the latches.
Hello,
That Dismantling tool for Switch E is also available in a full Tool set with the other tooling for this switch on part 1948-2480-ND. Worth a look.

Dear Jkan!
That´s excellent news! Thank you very much.
Dear Ryan.
Definitely looking for this kit. We have this switch installed in some very important equipment.
Thank you!
