Do Programmers like Microchip's FLASHPRO6 come with Letters of Volatility?

We’ve received a few inquiries lately concerning letters of volatility, including requests for these documents for programmers like Microchip Technology’s - FLASHPRO6. Many customers have reported issues looking for such documents for these devices. Is this a known frequent issue?

Letters of Volatility are meant to be declarations of where any sort of memory - and thus, any sort of sensitive user information - is or can be stored inside a product. As programmers such as FLASHPRO6 are not “products” in the sense that a letter of volatility is looking for, these devices are exempt from requirements for letters of volatility and manufacturers do not keep any such documents for them.
