Good day.

When using a fan of your manufacture ebm-papst model 4314/2, a question arose about the use of this fan, the answer to which I did not find in the Datasheet.
Question:

  1. In what position can the fan be used?
  2. Can the fan operate in a position in which the air is blown upwards?
  3. Are the permitted fan positions described in the documentation by the manufacturer?

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

You can mount this fan, to blow the air in any direction.

So you can blow the air upwards.

I did not see any recommendations or restrictions for the mounting position, on the datasheet, or on the manufacture’s website.

I encountered a problem when, when placing the fan in the upward blowing position, the rotor with the fan blades under its own weight drops 1-1.5 mm down and starts to touch the body of the equipment standing underneath it. I looked for installation instructions, but apparently there are no restrictions on the fan position.
