IPC/JEDEC MSL standards apply to products (semiconductors, etc.) using the plastic packages used in reflow processes.
NOTE: These standards do not apply to aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a rubber seal, conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors, or conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are not particularly sensitive to humidity but we do provide the values shown in the table below for customers who require an MSL value.
It is not necessary to include a desiccant in the packaging and no baking treatment is required.
MSL(Moisture sensitive Level)
Type | MSL compliance level) | Floor Life |
---|---|---|
Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors | 1 | Unlimited (30℃ less than 85%RH However, the recommended maximum storage period is up to three years. |
Conductive Polymer Hybrid Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors | 1 | Unlimited (30℃ less than 85%RH) However, the recommended maximum storage period is up to two years. |
Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Capacitors | 2a | 4 weeks |
