Fiber Optic Connectors are the ends used to terminate optical fiber cable. The connector styles are DNP, ESCON, FC, FDDI, FSD, FSMA, LC, MPO, MT-RJ, MU, SC, SCRJ, SCRJ and Power Jack, SMA, ST, TNC, and VF-45. The mode options are multimode (OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4), POF, and Singlemode (OM1). These connectors accept fiber core diameters ranging from 3 µm to 1000 µm.
SelectionCharacteristics
Connector Style: Indicates a specific type of connector with which the assembly is designed to be used.
Connector Type: An indication of the type of body the device has.
Simplex/Duplex: Describes the number of optical fibers accommodated by a device.
Mode: Indicates the type of optical fiber with which a connector is designed for use.
Fiber Core Diameter: The diameter of the core that the connector can accept.
Fiber Cladding Diameter: The diameter of the cladding that the connector can accept.
Cable Diameter: Indicates the nominal diameter or diameter range of wire/cable materials with which a product is designed for use.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Fastening Type: The mating retention mechanism employed by the device.
Housing Color: The dominant color of the housing.
Boot Color: The color of the portion of the housing that provides strain relief and mechanical cable support.
Ingress Protection: IP (Ingress Protection) ratings such as (IP20, IP65, IP67, etc.) define how likely water and dirt will get into the system. The first number represents dirt and solid contaminants while the second represents water and liquids.
