Fiber optic connector adapters facilitate the mating of fiber optic cables fitted with connectors. Most commonly, they provide for the interconnection of cables having similar connectors in order to facilitate passage through an enclosure wall or to extend the cable length. Products incorporating standard fiber optic connector types within an outer shroud or shield feature to provide increased environmental resistance are also included.

Convert To (Adapter End): Type or style of connection being converted to.
Simplex/Duplex: Describes the number of optical fibers accommodated by a device.
Mode: Indicates the type of optical fiber with which a connector is designed for use.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Housing Material: Indicates the material composition of the housing.
Ferrule Material: Indicates the material composition of the ferrule.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a dust cap, keyed, or EMI shielded.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
