Need help identifying this mosfet and connector from a 3090 EVGA GPU please. I bought it dead and it had a 12v short, blown mosfet. Also this fan connector was damaged. I can’t find anything exactly the same on google. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks!!
Hello @rob.jacobs
I was able to identify the chip that you had posted which is part number AOZ6663DI from Alpha & Omega and this is its part marking information AOZ6663DI.pdf
As for the melted connector, would you be able to measure the pitch of the pins as it may help narrow down what connector it might be.
Awesome! Thanks for your help, the melted connector is a female socket, it measure approximately 12mm wide, 8mm high, the pitch of the pins is 2mm. Really appreciate the help!
unfortunately it seems that chip link you supplied has a different footprint. Here is a pic of what I need.
For the connector that is melted I am not having luck nailing down one that looks 100% correct.
17-2-2496750-5CT-ND was found however I am not at all sure it would be the right fit.
2-2496750-5 TE Connectivity AMP Connectors | Connectors, Interconnects | DigiKey
looks pretty close, I will purchase one and try once the mosfet is sorted too.
Thanks!!
So far I was not able to find one that matches the same footprint, sorry
It’s possible that Alpha & Omega made a proprietary part for that design, but if not, it would help to narrow down possibilities by giving us an accurate measurement of the dimensions of the part.
Hi rob.jacobs,
So, I think I have it narrowed down to what A&O calls a “31-PowerVFQFN” package.
The part would likely be a combination of a couple MOSFETs and integrated gate drivers in a single package which would be driven by an external PWM controller. This is typically used in the power architecture I believe to be defined by Intel called “DrMOS”. If your part measures 5 x 5 mm, then it’s almost certainly that package.
I haven’t identified a specific part with those markings, but here and here are a few links to parts which fall into this category.
Follow-up:
It looks like the AOZ5332QI has the markings you’re looking for:
Love your work David! Thanks very very much!! Going to purchase now!
