HARTING is an interconnect supplier with a lean towards industrial and rough-conditions products. One such product is their 09352250312 HAN-series sealed Rj45 coupler. The datasheet for this device lists two different IP ratings - IP65 and IP67. We’ve had a number of questions on why this is, and which one actually applies?
The answer is they both do, and that’s why each is on the datasheet. IP67 only applies when the connector is mated to an appropriate mate, while IP65 applies the rest of the time.
