Help identifying a 4 position 1/2" diameter circular connector

I need the male ‘plug’ that has female connectors.
4 Connectors plus a key
1/2" Diameter male plug
Pins are 0.100 inch +/-

Hello,

Are there any numbers or markings on the connector?

I believe the closest type of connectors we have to this would be the Aviation type. Please verify the size.

This is on a welder. I would like to duplicate the plug that is on the torch cord so it can be controlled remotely. The male plug is 1/2” diameter and has 4 female sockets. The sockets accept 0.100” male pins which are on the bulkhead connector

I can’t see the sockets for the pins or the spacing on the data sheet so I don’t know if it will mate with the bulkhead mounted socket that has the male pins

It is on an Eastwood welder if that helps

The only markings I have been able to see on the connector are the molded-in PIN numbers on the plastic plug

I added an image to the post.

Hello, Tim.

The connector Jeff recommended, 1188-CONNECTOR-GX16-4-ND, is about as close as we’re going to be able to get. The mating face of the device is 14.7mm, a bit over half an inch. Close to what people would call 9/16ths. Generally held to be within rounding range of a ruler/tape measure measurement.

Do note that the image provided on our website, and by jeff, is for a mated pair. As best I can tell from the manufacturer’s web page, you get both the male and female connector, as shown here:

Does this help?

Here is the challenge: my welder has a regular torch as well as a spool gun torch. I’m working on a project to automate welding with the regular torch. I would unplug the control plug that has the signal for the trigger (close circuit between two of the conductors) and ‘spoof’ it with a relay driven by a raspberry pi. When I’m not using the automation, I would return to using the control signals from the torch

Perhaps I need to 3d print a custom plug. Would you recommend female sockets that would connect to the 0.100” male pins?

It really isn’t practical to change the connectors on the torches

Hello Tim,

Regarding mating connectors for your standard .100" male unshrouded header pins. You may find these Under the category of Rectangular Connector Housings

Linked below is filtered for .100" pitch and may be further filtered by the number of positions you are needing.
