Need help identifying this part if possible. We don’t know the values but have some pictures with dimensions to attach. Thank you in advance!
Hello,
Unfortunately, I could not find this part number.
Hi EEICT,
Is there a polarization line on one side of this part that is not readily visible in your image?
The reason that I ask is that I have found in datasheets from several different vendors that the unidirectional SMCJ22A is marked with “GEX”, whereas the bi-directional SMCJ22CA, which would have no line, would be marked with “BEX”.
Here’s a link to several of them.
Hi, David_1528.
Pay attention to this diode from Fairchild.
They have the same markings for the diode, but the diode name is different.
Bi-directional types have CA suffix where electrical characteristics apply in both directions.

The diode we are looking for is called SMCJ22CA.
Ahhh, yes, I stand corrected by @Adam7. Good catch! This is a bi-directional 22V SMC sized TVS.
Unlike most of the other vendors’ parts who’s datasheets I read, the Fairchild and Taiwan Semiconductor parts use the same marking letters, “GEX”, for both uni-directional and bi-directional versions and are differentiated only by whether or not they have the polarizing line on the part.
The correct base part number is therefore SMCJ22CA, and here’s a link to a number of parts which would work for you. Note that most of these will be marked with “BEX” rather than “GEX” but are still correct, as “GEX” specifically refers to the bi-directional version for most brands.
Thank you everyone!!
