How to find the DRAM memory technology node before purchase?

Hello, I wanted to buy several DDR3L SODIMMs which their SDRAM chips manufactured with the following features:

  1. Memory size: 2GB
  2. Speed: 1600 Mb/s
  3. Package: 204 SODIMM
  4. Memory type: DDR3L SDRAM
  5. RoHS Compliant
  6. Datasheet available
  7. Part status: Active
  8. Latest possible technology node
I found two options, Advantech and Viking, in Digikey. However, I would like to know how to get information about their technology node and their manufacturing date before purchase.

Hi @Como ,

Advantech doesn’t manufacture their own modules, they outsource them to other companies for example AQD-SD3L2GN16-SQ1 is manufactured by Adata.

The actual manufacturing date can be probed from the module: Page 11

I’m checking with a PM on Viking

@RobertCNelson Thanks for your response. I read the Advantech datasheet before. The problem is the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) information is on the EEPROM chip which I do not have access to it until I buy the memory module.
I can also find the manufacturing date if I have access to the labels on the SDRAM chips of a SODIMM, however, this is also not available until I buy the chip. I am looking for a potential way to order the right memory modules which has the latest memory node technology.
