How to measure ~10kV AC w/ freq 80 kHz

Hi there,

I want to measure some transformer output voltage that should be around 10kV at 80kHz - is there a specific probe that I can use for measuring it? I tried a normal high voltage probe but it seems not able to yield anything due to the freq is too high (it listed 50 to 60 Hz for the probe). Thanks.

Hi xiaheng,

Here are a few probes from Cal Test which might be suitable for your application:

  • CT4026 150 MHz, 1000x, 18 kV, High Voltage Oscilloscope Probe
  • CT4028 220 MHz, 1000x, 39 kV, High Voltage Oscilloscope Probe
  • CT4079-NA Active Differential Probe 50 MHz 200x/2000x, ±1.5 kV/±15 kV (North American version)
  • CT4079-EU Active Differential Probe 50 MHz 200x/2000x, ±1.5 kV/±15 kV (European version)

Thanks David! Very helpful.
