I’m troubleshooting a tablet reader that no longer charges. Attached are photos of the charging board, which has a chip that appears to have exploded. The board has markings “564? 12CW.”
Can anyone help identify the chip or suggest a suitable replacement? Any insights or resources would be greatly appreciated!
Hello TechRescue.
This is not an easy task to identify the chip .
Desolder the chip, take a photo of the bottom of the chip and the soldering point on the board.
I haven’t found any leads on this so far. Searching the markings, I came up with a few broad categories that seemed reasonable but I couldn’t narrow it down to anything useful.
Hi TechRescue,
Your board will work without this diode, but you first need to eliminate the cause of the malfunction.
If you mixed up the polarity of the voltage, then this diode will burn out first.
Check the board, if there are no other malfunctions, you can unsolder this diode and the board will work.
But be careful, next time without this diode, a more expensive part will burn out.
