IC identification

I am trying to identify an 16 pin IC with front markings removed. On reverse is the number 23311789D and btand markings on one HS05 and the other Hl10.

Hello @pbinet,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

It’s not uncommon for manufacturers to scrape away the part numbers. This makes discovery very difficult,

Could you provide additional information about this chip. Information such as make and model of the device as well as a picture of the PCB would be helpful.

Best wishes,

APDahlen

Thank you for your reply.

It is off a volt/amp meter and drives a two row 7 segment display that has 9 pins and the common cathode changes with each pin along with pin changes. I was wondering how the chip carried out that function. Attached is a pic of the stripped down pcb.

Regards,

Peter

@pbinet

I also am not able to find chip information so far.
Would you have the model number for the the overall device this board is from?

Hello @pbinet,

The DCM-VC288 appears to be a small panel meter.

The device in question is a microcontroller. Most like an STM32 product as indicated by this schematic:

While DigiKey does offer the microcontroller,, it would not work unless you were able to source and then download the program.

Sincerely,

Aaron

P.S. DigiKey does offer a range of small panel meters suitable for many different applications.

I found similar information.
For 16pin items the below link of options were found.

However I too am thinking that it may be better to replace the unit as reprogramming these would be an issue unless you have the original code or are able to build the code your self.

Similar item.

Thank you for the information. I was trying to reproduce the code on Arduino just out of interest to see if I could use the display in another project. The voltmeter at Github looks interesting. Thanks for sending the link.
