I ordered 123-A-DSF25LPIII/FP-ND and 670-DBSP-JB25SR-ND to go on either side of a cable, only to find they are for differently pitched IDC cables (1.27mm and 1.38mm respectively). The pitch is not listed on the product pages and cannot be filtered for. Only one of the 2 products even directly mentions it in the datasheet, while the other one lists the distance between the 2 outermost wires, and pitch can be calculated from that by hand.
Is the 1.38mm a wildly unusual outlier that I stumbled upon? Is there something that can be done to make this simpler than having to dig through the datasheets for each one? If 1.38mm pitch is as unusual for an IDC cable as wikipedia suggests, maybe it should be listed as its own termination?

It seems plausible to me that the unit with 1.38mm pitch (the apparent pitch of the D-sub itself) would be targeting a discrete-wire termination (think round cable) rather than flat ribbon stock.
This should ideally show up in the “Termination” attribute, but it doesn’t help much if the data isn’t entered correctly. Unfortunately this seems like the sort of error that might not be a one-off, so bearing the possibility in mind and checking the drawings is likely to be important.
By the time one gets to 25p connectors though, the difference stacks up enough to be visually discernible on a scaled drawing without having to hunt for dimensions. If the IDC contacts align with the D-Sub pins, it’s probably not meant for ribbon cable use.
I found a ribbon cable with the correct pitch in a scrap box at work, so it must have at least been available in the past. It does not appear to exist on DigiKey anymore, though.
Just as a point of interest, I found some documentation from Hirose FDxD series which mentions using a special “slitting jig” designed to slit 1.27mm pitch ribbon cable for use with IDC-type D-Sub connectors which have the 1.38mm pitch ribbon cable IDC interface, such as the Hirose FDxD series.
The part number for that is FDXD-ST, also referred to by the “Hirose number” CL0902-0028-6-00.
I have not found it to be available anywhere online. It’s quite possible that it no longer exists anywhere other than possibly in some Hirose lab.
