Identify this component

Hello, this is part is off of a 1991 Bosch Automotive Engine Control Unit (ECU) made in Germany.

Marked 63-MMK9013 1.0K

Hello keith.norris,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

I was unable to find anything on this device. This may be a proprietary part for Bosch.

The 1.0K would make it appear to be a resistor, but there is no documentation to back that up.

The “9013” is almost certainly a date code of the 19th week of 1990.

You don’t show the underside of the component, which might be useful to see, but it’s likely a Kemet MMK series metalyzed polyester film capacitor. THe “63” refers to the AC voltage rating, the “1.0” is the capacitance in uF, and the “K” is the standard letter to call out 10% tolerance.

If you could give the dimensions of the body, that would help to narrow down between a couple of possible parts. The part with 5mm lead-spacing is about 7.2mm x 7.2mm and about 13mm tall. The version with 7.5mm lead-spacing is about 10.5mm x 6.0mm and about 12mm tall.

Here are the two options:

5mm lead spacing: (obsolete, but still in stock)

7.5mm lead spacing: (obsolete and out of stock)

This MMK7.5105K100K04L4BULK is obsolete and out of stock. Here is a possible alternative to consider for the 7.5mm lead-spacing option:

  • B32520C1105K000 1.0uF 10% 63Vac/100Vdc metalyzed polyester film capacitor with 7.5mm lead-spacing

This is great info. Leads broke off but they are 5mm spacing which is good.

Hi keith.norris,

Based on your dimensions, it’s almost certainly the MMK5105K100J06L16.5TR18.
