what is this component?
Hello gilbarroga and welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.
I would guess that it is most likely a Diode, although I have been unable to find one that matches the marking on your device.
Is there any marking on the board around the component that would help indicate what type of diode this could be? Do you happen to have a schematic of the device itself? Some more information my assist in identify the specific component.
Hello Nick,
I don’t know if this is capacitor because we had measured capacitance across the terminal. by the way no refdes on the board also I do not have schematic .
Hello gilbarroga,
The look appears to be some type of diode, like a rectifying diode, or Zener diode.
The testing would have to be done outside the circuit, or you are testing everything that is connected to it, on the board.
I did not find a match with those markings.
A 6.8uF/10V tantalum capacitor seems a likely option.
Thank you rick, 685108 –> 685 = 6.8uf my query is that is there a voltage equivalent for the number 108 if this is a tantalum cap.?
Thank you adam7 for the information regarding meaning of each number on component body mark.
