DigiKey offers a variety of stud mount diodes. An example is this 1N4045.

There are a few challenges when it comes to power diode substitution:

  • Polarity: is your diode cathode-to-stud or anode-to-stud
  • Reverse voltage
  • Forward current
  • Cost, as we don’t want to make a mistake.

Comments:

  • The 8160 feels more like a date or lot code. Are other markings present?
  • Please send a few pictures of the diode:
    • Include both diodes assuming they are in pairs.
    • Include pictures of the polarity marking. This will look like an arrow pointing to a line.
    • Include the brand if present.
