M3 SMD Threaded Insert with Flanged Head

Hi,

I have this insert at the below images. I measured the diameter from the bolt and was 2.9mm so I beleive the insert is 3mm. I searched at the below link but I couldn’t find a similar insert The space around the PCB holes is very limmited, so I have to fine a spacer with the same head diameter. Any idea where I could find?

Hello oktabitt, I think this may be referred to as a “binding post.” We do have a category for this, but I’m not sure we have one that matches these exact parameters since I don’t know the thread size. Check this link out: Binding Posts

The thread size is no problem. I can use whatever thread size… the screw size I want to be M3.

That narrows it down: M3 screw options. Hopefully one of these will work. Otherwise, I’m not sure we have an exact match.

We have some similar product under the following category as well:

In particular, this seems to be quite similar:

Note that the drawings in the datasheet are not to scale, so you have to read the actual dimensions rather than just looking at the drawings to understand what it looks like.

The inner hole is a threaded 3mm size. The narrower outer diameter is 4.2mm and the wider outer diameter is 6mm. Total height is 2.9mm.

Not to confuse things further but we also have Threaded Inserts under Hardware,Fasteners,Accessories > Miscellaneous

< Located Here >

Beware, we have general pictures up for the ones closest to your size so please check the datasheet.

Because this don’t have external seretions/threads in order to press in the PCB hole, do you know if this can be soldered on the pad of the hole (on digikey description writes: Material: Steel & Plating: Tin)?

And here’s another one to consider:

Yes. In fact, they provide a recommended solder profile in the datasheet.
