Hello DigiKey Community,
I need help selecting the correct beryllium copper fingerstock for repairing a 3CX3000A7 RF tube socket in an Elenos T5000 FM transmitter.
Application Details:
-
Repair grid ring contacts on cylindrical tube socket
-
The fingerstock will be formed into a circular ring (~12-15" circumference)
-
Will be silver soldered to the socket base
-
Must be flat strip design (not clip-on, hook-on, or edge mount)
-
NO PSA adhesive backing
Material Requirements:
-
Beryllium Copper
-
Unplated or Tin plated (suitable for soldering)
-
Length: 16-24 inches
-
Operating temperature: RF transmitter environment
Products I’ve reviewed but aren’t suitable:
-
81-02-14274-2000 (Parker Chomerics) - Has PSA adhesive backing
-
182RF9C070L-24-02 (Tech-Etch) - Clip-on style, difficult to form into ring
What I’m looking for:
-
Flat strip “grounding contact” or “special mount” style
-
Designed to be soldered/welded
-
Can be easily formed into circular shape
-
Similar to Parker Chomerics “Grounding Strips” (Table 39-40) or Tech-Etch “Special Mount” products
Questions:
-
Which beryllium copper fingerstock products in your catalog are flat strips without mounting clips?
-
Are there products specifically for soldering/welding applications?
-
Do you stock any “contact ring” products that are pre-formed?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I can provide photos of the damaged socket if helpful.
