Fingerstock and gasket contacts limit electromagnetic interference (EMI), also called radio-frequency interference (RFI) when in the radio frequency spectrum, that affects electrical circuits by electromagnetic induction, electrostatic coupling, or conduction. They are used where removable parts or doors attach to a chassis or enclosure, making them susceptible to EMI. Contacts are attached using adhesive, clips, hardware, solder, slotting, or snap-in channels.
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: The names that differentiate product types that fit under this category from each other.
Shape: Describes the style or geometry of the available products.
Width: The measurement from the left side to the right side of the product when looking at the front.
Length: The measurement from the front side to the back side of the product when looking at the front.
Height: The measurement from the top to the bottom of the product when looking at the front.
Material: The material that the product is primarily made of. Remember plating can change the appearance and make something nickel look gold.
Plating: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the device.
Plating - Thickness: Indicates the thickness of the finish/plating material applied to the device.
Attachment Method: This indicates how the product was designed to be designed to attach to the parts they are meant to protect.
Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
