Need Help with ID - no knowledge of connectors

Looking to ID and replace this connector on a CNC Mill. Mfg will only sell complete cable replacement. Connector is fine. Retaining ring fell apart.

Hello,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum. You may have one of these options. You will need to select one based on whether you need male crimp pins for female crimp sockets.

Hi Steve,

I tried to upload photos but all I get is some HTML garbage in the window. I know zero about connectors. I need to replace a connector retaining ring on a 100% functional cable that is attached to a sealed unit. I tried using the identification" tool to ID this but I don’t have enough knowledge to even get started and I’m not dropping $1000 over a plastic ring. I’ll screw the damn thing to the electrical case before I do that. can you give me some sort of direction as to how to figure out what I need?

Thanks!

Do you need female or male contacts in the connector ? The two options I offered are linked here, Circular Connector Housings | Connectors, Interconnects | DigiKey

The pins are on the receptacle mounted to the panel. The plug goes into that and cable end indexes and slides inside the part on the panel. Does that make the cable side connector female?

Thanks for the information. If the pins are on the panel mount connector you would need DigiKey part A1638-ND which uses female sockets. Based on the size wire in the cable you will need to select the socket contact appropriate for the wire guage size.

Thank you So much Steve! Your help has been excellent
