Need push-on or quick connector for 10-24 stud terminal

Need a single-wire connector for a stud-type terminal block such as the F8755-ND that doesn’t require a tool for connection. The studs match standard 10-24 machine screw hardware. I’m thinking a push-on or clip-on sleeve, but there may be other alternatives. Alligator clips not sufficiently secure.

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

You could take a look at something like our number A122968CT-ND

It is a ring terminal that would fit over that terminal. You would still need a metal nut to keep it in place.

Thank you but the use of a nut implies the need for a tool which is not allowed in this use case. That’s why I included " that doesn’t require a tool for connection."

Hi @reggie.ratcliff ,

You may be interested in something like these, click here. Once initially bolted down, you would not need a tool to push a spade terminal on.

Otherwise, we do have these to look over, which are spaded terminal blocks and would eliminate the studs all together requiring only a push-on type of connection. Please note the images are for representation only and may not represent actual product, also, some female quick connects feature a locking mechanism which would allow the terminal to be much more secure on the terminal if needed.

Otherwise we may have some kind of push-in styles. We could possibly locate better options if we know a bit more about the project, such as wire gauge, solid or stranded wire, etc. We may also have some kind of industrial barrier blocks that would accept a wire ferrule to be pushed in.

Some other notable options:
panel mount
din rail channel

Hi reggie.ratcliff,

If you are looking for something that will attach directly to the studs without a tool, I don’t know of anything that would do that. If you can use a tool once, for mounting an adapting part, then @Ryan_2724’s suggestion of quick connect terminals with a mounting hole seems like a pretty good option. Here are the options which fit that stud size.

If you go with this option, make note that your maximum current will likely be dictated by the wire-mounted terminal and wire you use to make that connection. The studs on the F8755-ND are rated for up to 30A, but you would need a 10 AWG or larger cable and appropriately rated crimp terminal to handle that much current.

Thank you. I had seen a sleeve connector used to push onto a stud, but it was in some long-gone Western Union equipment too many decades ago. Just hoping to find a modern version. The use case involves a limited set of in-flight demos where only one signal is not front-panel jack accessible and permission for the use of a tool requires infinitely more paperwork.

I am sorry. I did not find anything else either.
