Need to find some replacement capacitors for my bose speaker's

10 microfarad 35v 105c 5mm dia × 10mm height, blue can ( i believe this is to be a radial ) from descriptions of caps and pic’s. The radial type is what i have on circuit board. Closest ones found here are to be electronic? Unless i can get by with a lower voltage rating. I thought you can go up in voltage, for the reason of higher voltage applies for more insulation value. Didn’t really want to go down in voltage, unless i was told wrong years ago. apologies . Found all other caps needed on this site, just need to find one that will work properly for the 10 microfarad!!!

Hello,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum. We have these capacitors available that are 10uf at 35v. You will want to measure the lead space on the capacitor you have to verify one of these will fit

Hi arnzy2,

If you could provide a few images of that cap, that might also help.

Is it actually radial (two wire leads which pass through holes to the underside of the circuit board) or is it surface mount (leads sit on top of, and parallel to the circuit board)? And if radial, what is its lead spacing?

Regarding voltage rating, you are correct – you don’t want to replace with a lower voltage, as it could then be damaged by exposing it to voltages above its rating, but there is no harm in using one rated for a higher voltage – that’s just added insurance.
