Options of gold-plated brass pogo pins for sEMG acuiqisition system

Heyy,

I’m currently exploring options for gold-plated brass pogo pins to be integrated into an sEMG wristband system. Since these will be in direct contact with skin and used for bio-signal acquisition, I’m wondering if anyone has recommended pogo pin models or series that would be particularly suitable.

Also, when selecting pogo pins for this type of application, what are the key characteristics I should pay close attention to? For example:

  1. Pin size & pitch (diameter, length, spring travel : important for comfortable skin contact and proper signal coupling)
  2. Spring force (too high can be uncomfortable, too low may cause unstable contact)
  3. Mounting method (whether they need to be soldered onto custom electrode pads or if there are alternatives like press-fit or modular housings)

Any insight or specific part recommendations would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hello karencheenn,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

We carry a lot of pogo pins, but we do not have recommendations for what would be best for your application. I’m sorry I could not help you more with this.

Maybe one of the engineers at DigiKey, or other contributors, can give some advice on this.
