Panel Mount

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Panel Mount category on DigiKey.com

Panel Mount Terminal Blocks are used as a main connection point with one or more terminals separated by a plastic barrier. The device is meant to be mounted on a panel and allows connections between circuits on both sides of the panel. The panel wire connections are bolt/screw clamp, header/male/female, circular clamp, PCB pins, push in clamp, quick connect, screw terminal, solder eyelet, solder tabs, and wire wrap terminals.

SelectionCharacteristics

Front Panel Wire Connection: Indicates the mechanical form of the connections on the front/exterior side of the device.

Rear Panel Wire Connection: Describes the form factor of the connectors on the terminal block that are located behind the panel to which the block is mounted.

Width: Indicates the overall width the device.

Panel Thickness: Indicates the thickness of an enclosure wall or similar planar surface into which a device is intended to mount. May be unspecified for products having a geometry that is insensitive to this dimension.

Positions Per Level: Indicates the number of independent circuits present in a device along each level, row, or tier of contacts.

Panel Mount Type: Describes the mechanical form factor of a terminal block’s panel attachment mechanism.

Pitch: Indicates the center-to-center spacing between adjacent pins.

Voltage - UL: The rated maximum working voltage of a device, per standards established by Underwriters Laboratories.

Current - UL: Indicates a device’s maximum continuous current rating, per standards established by Underwriters Laboratories.

Wire Gauge: The wire size or size range with which a product is designed for use, typically expressed in terms of AWG (American Wire Gauge).

Color: The dominant color of the device.

Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as ground, sealing gasket, or threaded mating lock.

Number of Levels: Indicates the number of rows of contact positions incorporated in a device, called “levels” in reference to the rows’ varying distance from the mounting surface.
