Hello @sstrzesynski
If all the parts in your project are custom symbols, they will appear pink in the project otherwise they are not colored in.
Creating a custom symbol in Scheme-it - DigiKey TechForum
For the wire color when you select it you should be able to change the color on the right-hand side of the screen when you left click the wire once, see the screen shot below.
As for the issue you are having with saving the project, I have reached out to our team, to look into this error.
Here are screenshots of the same project, the first (145941) is history save 11 from January and the second(150020) is history save 12 from Yesterday. When I edited it yesterday it looked like the save 11.
My other project that I copied to make this problem one, still opens correctly, no pink, containing all the same exact custom symbols.
Why?
Hello sstrzesynski.
First, I want to thank you for using Scheme-it. Second, thank you for reaching out to us.
For the symbol save issue, you may want to try refreshing the page. If that doesn’t help, please reach out to us.
Thank you again for using Scheme-it.

Refresh was the first thing I tried, then exit browser and reload, then clear browser cache and reload. None worked.
I can load history save 11 and the pink is gone, then load save 12 or higher and the pink is back, then load 11 or older again and the pink goes away again. All in the same session.
If I start a new test project from scratch, add most of the same custom symbols, connect them with a few wires, and color code the wires it all looks properly and works. I save the test project. I open another older project. I then reopen the test project I just created earlier, and it is all pink boxes instead of my symbols. I add more of the same symbols and the newly added symbols look proper. I save. I reopen the test project again and now the newer symbols are converted to pink boxes! If I look at the history thumbnails it shows save2 with proper symbols and wires, save 3 with pink boxes of the save2 data and the newly added symbols proper. If I load save 2 from history, it is all pink boxes even though the thumbnail shows them proper.
HELP!
Thank you for the update. We are working on a solution. I apologize for the problems.

Any progress? If I bring up a history revision that does not show pink boxes, then I save it as a new project, then I add another symbol, it still looks proper. If I then save it, open another project, then reopen it, BACK TO PINK BOXES!! So anything I create and save will be corrupted to pink boxes if I save it and then open it later.
PS: if I double click on a pink box symbol, it launches symbol editor and it shows properly in the ditor.
I apologize for the delay. We haven’t experienced this issue before and I’ve been working to replicate the issue but haven’t come up with a reason as to why this is occurring. We are having our developers looking into as well. If I come up with anything I will let you know as soon as possible. However, please contact us at any time if you would like an update.

I tried using the edge browser instead of chrome and it did the same things.
Would a short video of how it behaves help?
I was trying to determine if there was an addition to the project between the good version and the bad version that would have caused the issues. It almost appears as though the rendering of the symbols in your particular project is interrupted by something.
If you would like to produce a video, that would be great.
In order to better communicate, you can email me directly at Curtis.johnson@digikey.com
Thanks.
