Hi all at DigiKey forums, I’ve got a request… Could anyone please identify the component (arrowed)???, There is no circuit board I.D marked and nothing on any of my schematics. The component is on an old analog oscilloscope (Farnell DTV40)… There are many of these components dotted all over the various boards but no mention of anything anywhere,!!..??. no markings, or reference at all…
Thanks for any help anyone can give…
Hello stagg292,
These look like a standard zero ohm jumper resistor.
Something similar to 0.0QBK-ND.
The closest example I found with a blue body is part number BC3910CT-ND.
For decoding the resistor bands, the single black band decodes to 0.
So these can be replaced with another zero ohm resistor, or just a straight piece of wire.
An example would be JW60ZT0R00CT-ND, or any extra lead wires you have available.
Hi david, thank you so much for that, such a quick response !!! , thanks , certainly had me scratching my head for a long time, now i know for the future
I’m learning all the time.. I guess they would just measure as continuity..?
Thanks again
Richard
Yes, if the part shows continuity through it, it would be good. They are just another way to put a jumper across 2 points. Good luck with the projects.
Hi, thanks again David, making great headway , and learning all the time, have a great day and thanks for your help.
Richard
Anytime. Glad to help.
Hi david, thanks for your help with my project,
Once again can i ask for your help.
I am continuing my attempt at repairing the Farnell dtv40 oscilloscope, and have come across parts that don’t quite make sense once again, It is the pair of diodes marked as Tg7-H, please see photo attached,?? i’ve searched for info but is unknown, The schematics state it is a 1G4B-41, but on finding these , the leadouts are nothing like the ones marked and the shape is totally different, would you be able please to shed some light on this component,?
As a side note, there are some components clearly listed in the components list that are missing on the circuit boards, I would assume that they should be there as they are listed and do indeed show as “in place” on the schematics, would you say i was right in this? the components are a diode, a resistor and 3 capacitors,
I must say though that i am using the farnell dtv20 schematics (identical in layout and components), not the dtv40 one as this is unavailable,
The hung chang 5504 and the phillips Pm 3208 are identical machines and the schematics show these missing parts in place on the schematics also, It may be that the previous owner attempted repairs and removed these for some reason , maybe???
thanks for any further help you could give me
Richard
Hi david
further to my email just sent, sorry i forgot to attach photo, here it is,thanks
