Potentiometer dial compatibility with potentiometer

------Question for 462 Please Put your question below------

462 Kilo International 10 turn dial for potentiometer. How can I verify this knob will mount to the potentiometer I want? Like other knobs I’ve looked at, I see no information to let me know what shape or dimensions are required for the potentiometer I want to place it on.

Hello rriedel,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

The 462KL-ND dial, will fit a 0.250” diameter shaft.

Thankyou. Here I was thinking dials might take advantage of the flats and slots so many potentiometers have.

The supplier’s product page does provide some additional information regarding shaft and bushing length constraints:

It can also be seen that the series is equipped with a setscrew for fastening the dial to the potentiometer shaft. The non-flatted offerings that make up the bulk of the 10-turn offerings on hand should allow resolution of clocking/timing issue during assembly, though one may wish to consider judicious use of a thread locking agent or similar fixative in addition.
