I am trying to upload a .xlsx file with the manufacturer’s part number and quantities but some items were not added to my order because of errors, precisely “Quantity not available in Tape & Reel” and “Duplicate manufacturer part, please use part search feature or contact DigiKey” errors.
How can I get around these errors because the list is fairly extensive and I cant get just fix one item by one (by choosing cut tape) ?
Or maybe if there is a tool to get DigiKey Part Number from the manufacturer’s part number it could help.
We wanted to switch from Mouser to Digikey for its superior connector assortment and better filters. Now we wanted to do our first bulk-order and encountered the exact same issue as described above. Unfortunately, it seems to not have been fixed in those 1.5 years.
Could you please help us with that? We really need to be able to import lists with manufacturer part numbers. It is too much work and too error-prone to enter everything by hand.
You will not have to reenter the parts manually. If you get this error and you click on view options it is just asking you if you want to select Cut Tape or Digi-Reel since you entered a part number that comes on a reel in less than a full reel quantity. Here is a screenshot example. In this case if I just select the add button the error will go away for this part. This is to ensure if you need parts on a reel you can select Digi-Reel and if you do not need parts on a reel you can select cut tape.
Hm, this is very interesting! The way I did it was to upload the list via the “Browse” button (bottom of the screenshot) that appears when I click on the shopping cart:
But when I click on “Upload a List” in the search field on the homepage of Digikey, I get a much better functionality and I don’t have the above described issue.
Maybe you can fix your webpage that the link in the shopping basket also leads to the path with more functionality…
