Raspberry Pi created their eponymous Raspberry Pi SBC (Single board computer) and much of the ecosystem around it. One component of this ecosystem is SC1629, a microSD memory card tuned for use in the Raspberry Pi. We’ve gotten questions recently on whether this particular card comes pre-loaded with the Pi OS. Is this the case?
This part number specifically does not come with a pre-loaded OS, and is available for applications that want to use a different OS or which want to oversee their OS installation themselves. The version of this card with the OS pre-loaded would be Raspberry Pi part number SC1657, which unfortunately is not amongst our offerings at this time.
